English 2010
English 2010 has truly helped me develop my writing capabilities along with the power of rhetoric. This semester, we have done many projects that have had a required presentation to go along with it. I have never been a fan of getting up in front of the class to show my work publicly. This class has taught me that it is more than just showing my work, presentations have the power to influence the audience in a way that maybe just a essay would not. Nearly every situation can be looked at in rhetorical way and responded to rhetorically too. We are at the point in our lives now that make a difference for the future. We have to determine the path we want to take and we are able to influence many along the way. I have learned how to better respond to the situations and proper ways to act as an individual when I want to be heard.
This project itself has taught me a lot, not just about water. I always think it is nice when we are assigned a topic because then we can just jump right into it. However, this time it was given to us both ways; we were given a topic, but it was broad and up to us to narrow it down. This was not the easiest to do, but that is how it will be in life as well. Often when there is a change to be made, we might be the first one to speak up about it and the process of determining what to talk about is important to prove our point. Personally, I have learned the importance we as students have right now for our future. The problems that exist today will hopefully be solved by our generation. We are the future.
